'On Location' ties the new Convention Center bus shelters to the past yet implies a cinematic timelessness for Las Vegas. The images in each of the four shelters are based on photographs from the Las Vegas News Bureau (and in the archive of the Las Vegas Visitor and Convention Authority) taken during location shooting for the film Diamonds Are Forever (1971). The locations pictured include the Hilton Hotel (formerly the International Hotel), the Landmark Hotel and Casino, and the dome of the original Las Vegas Convention Center, all of which were near the location of the new shelters. The background patterns derive from the artist's photographs of ornamental block walls in the Paradise Palms and other nearby neighborhoods.
