ART EXPO, LAS VEGAS, SEPTEMBER 19-21, 2008

The world's largest name in fine and popular arts fairs and a 30-year history in the New York market, Artexpo will be holding their second west coast event at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on September 19-21, 2008. Approximately 10,000 attendees are expected.
Through the generous support of Artexpo and the City of Las Vegas Arts Commission, five paid booth scholarships are being made available to Clark County artists. Valued at approximately $5000 each, these scholarships cover the charge for a booth package.
Submissions will be reviewed and selected by a panel of Artists/Arts Professionals and Arts Commissioners. The Arts Commission will also review and potentially select from the Arts Commission's Artist Registry and artists contracted for public art projects.
Artists selected for a booth scholarship at the Art Expo should be aware that expenses of exhibiting their work (such as framing, 3-d stands, brochures, staff, etc.) are not a part of this scholarship and will not be incurred by the Artexpo or the City of Las Vegas Arts Commission. The selected artist will need to provide their own accommodations to display, transport, sell, and promote their work.
Interested artists are required to submit the following:
(1) Resume with address and contact information
(2) Letter of interest not to exceed one page
(3) Ten digital images of prior work (JPEG only/DO NOT SEND QUICKTIME FILES, DO NOT EMAIL, AND DO NOT SEND SLIDES)

Commissioning of artists by the Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs and the pursuit of all Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs activities are implemented without preference to racial or ethnic origins, sex, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability or age.
The Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs reserves the right to modify this solicitation and to request additional information or proposals from any or all participating artists. The Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs reserves the right to accept or reject, at any time prior to the commissioning of a work, any or all proposals when the acceptance, rejection, waiver or advertisement would be in the best interest of the project. In addition, the Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs may solicit proposals from artists not responding to this call and reserves the right to select an artist outside of the pool of artists responding to this call.
The staff of the Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs shall be responsible for all correspondence and communication by and between applicants and members of selection panels. Discussion regarding these projects by and between any applicant and any member of a selection panel outside of regularly scheduled meetings during the selection process may be grounds for the disqualification of the applicant. Such determination shall be in the sole discretion of the Las Vegas Arts Commission.
