Clark County : MARYLAND PARKWAY AND RUSSELL ROAD ART
ARTWORK LOCATION DESCRIPTION: The artwork(s) will be sited at/or near the east end of the Siegfried and Roy Park, along Maryland Parkway. A 5’ x 25’ space near the crossing at Maryland Parkway and Russell Road is reserved for a future transit shelter.
ELIGIBILITY: The project is open to all artists who reside in Clark County, Nevada, age 18 and over.
DEADLINE: 5 p.m. on Friday January 30, 2015.
BUDGET: The Clark County Public Art Fund has allocated $261,900.00 for this project, which includes all costs associated with the project, including the final artist’s design fee, materials, fabrication, artwork transportation, installation and required lighting of the artwork. This is a fixed cost project.
INFORMATION: Clark County Public Art Program is seeking an artist or artist team to design and implement site-specific public artwork(s) to serve as a landmark at the new Siegfried and Roy Park. The park is conceived as a passive park for the residents of the immediate neighborhood, and as the beginning of Maryland Parkway. The park stands across the street from the T3 terminal at McCarran International Airport. The artwork(s) may be static or kinetic.

INFORMATION: Public Art Chattanooga is seeking qualifications from artists or artist teams for the commission and installation of a mural at 2001 Chestnut Street at West 20th Street in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Up to three finalists will be selected to develop concept proposals for this project. Each finalist will be paid a $500 stipend. The project budget for the selected commission is $25,000. The Chestnut Street Gateway Mural will provide a transformative and dynamic visual anchor to this important gateway.

Napa ARTwalk Seeks Artists for 2015-2017 Exhibition

INFORMATION: The City of Napa has released a call for entries for the next Napa ARTwalk sculpture exhibition to be displayed in downtown Napa, June 2015-May 2017. Sculpture in each Napa ARTwalk is located along the primary pedestrian corridors of Main Street and First Street in downtown Napa, with all art sites within walking distance of one another. The City will again produce a printed map for the public to use for self-guided tours, and more information will also be available online at www.napaartwalk.org.

BUDGET: $25,000 for initial design and concept work. Upon approval of the design, the artist/artist team will be contracted for fabrication and installation for $225,000 inclusive of all fees, taxes, fabrication, delivery, installation, travel and additional site work if necessary to accommodate artwork.
INFORMATION: The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture has extended the deadline for applications to create artwork that recognizes the tribal peoples of this region, and reflects the Coast Salish tribes that have a historic connection to this territory. This project is part of Waterfront Seattle, a large-scale project to replace the Alaskan Way Viaduct with 20+ acres of new public space, streets, parks, and buildings. There are no preconceptions of what this artwork can be; the artist/artist team will investigate sites and develop a permanent artwork that acknowledges both the history and current presence of local tribes. The artwork could take the form of placemaking, sculptures, carvings, or site enhancements; it can be a singular element, a series of pieces, spaces for gathering and storytelling; and two or three dimensional.

INFORMATION: The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee at Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) seek an artist or artist team to create a site-specific commission project on the CNM campus. INFORMATION: In 2015, the City of Merriam, Kansas, located in northeast Johnson County, is beginning a 5-year placemaking initiative that will enhance public spaces in downtown Merriam and its environs. As the inaugural project in this initiative, the City has dedicated $100,000 to commission an artist or artist team to design, produce and install compelling public art for a small downtown plaza (approximately 925 sq. ft.).
A limited number of artists will be selected from the RFQ pool of applicants to develop and submit a formal proposal. A stipend of $1,200 will be paid to each artist invited to the proposal stage.

INFORMATION: The City of Raleigh invites artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to create public art for up to three bioretention basins as a part of the road widening project on Sandy Forks Road. Public art at Sandy Forks will create a striking visualization directly tied to the historic development of water in Raleigh, the modern treatments of storm water and water conservation, and will tie in to the aims of the project’s Greenroads certification.
