Urban Youth Academy at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center

INFORMATION: The City of Philadelphia’s Percent for Art Program through the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE), in collaboration with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, announce a competition to commission a site-specific artwork at the forthcoming Urban Youth Academy at the Marian Anderson Recreation Center. This commission is in conjunction with Major League Baseball and is part of a $1.1 million facility expansion of the South Philadelphia recreation center.

INFORMATION:Wayne State College seeks submissions from artists 18 years of age or older working in outdoor mediums for the Sixth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Competition. Submitted works should be of sound construction capable of withstanding severe Midwestern weather conditions. The selected sculpture(s) will be granted an honorarium of $1500 for a 12-month outdoor exhibit at Wayne State College. Sculpture Visions 2015-2016 - Chapel Hill, North Carolina

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists creating original three-dimensional artwork of a scale and material suitable for outdoor display. North Carolina artists are encouraged to apply. Participating artists must carry liability insurance.
INFORMATION: The Town of Chapel Hill’s Public and Cultural Arts Office, a Division of the Parks & Recreation Department, invites artists to apply for the 2015 – 2016 Sculpture Visions Exhibition. Between July 2015 and June 2016 original three-dimensional artwork by selected artists will be displayed in publicly-accessible outdoor spaces belonging to the Town of Chapel Hill and other participating sponsors. Selected artists will receive a $2,000 honorarium for the exhibition of their work.

Call to Mural Artists for a Community Engagement/International Arts Exchange
DEADLINE: March 31, 2015
INFORMATION:Meridian International Center – a non-profit based in Washington, D.C. – is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 Community Engagement through the Arts Exchange Program for American mural artists. Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Programs Division in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs with programming support from Meridian, four American artists will travel abroad to collaborate with local youth and underserved populations on community-based projects in the mural arts. Artists will design, implement and administer a 3.5-week, in-country program based on local community issues for the country specified. Meridian is currently accepting applications for projects in Brazil, Cuba, India, and Turkey.
